Rainy days
As the clouds gave birth
To hundreds of limpid tears
The air became contaminated
with the fresh smell of rain
Droplets, penetrating earth’s core
melted swiftly onto its raw soil
Attempting to heal every wound
crafted by man
Vibrant colors of leaves began to fade
mimicking the sad song wilted flowers
had sung only yesterday
Hollow trees howled at poorly drawn scars
that were forcefully carved onto their skin
The Earth stood still, as if only for a moment
revealing that the waves too
understood the meaning of loss
